Quick answer: A Claude Project is a workspace on claude.ai where you save files (“project knowledge”) and standing instructions, so every chat inside the project starts out knowing your stuff.

Think of it like a binder

Normal chats forget everything when you start a new one. A Project is a binder: put your notes, documents and rules inside, and every new chat in that binder can use them.

Step by step

  1. Go to claude.ai and open Projects, then Create project.
  2. Give it a name and a short description (“Our family’s 2027 vacation”).
  3. Add instructions: how you want Claude to act in this project.
  4. Add files to the project knowledge: itineraries, PDFs, notes.
  5. Start a chat inside the project and ask away.

💼 Side-Hustle HQ: price list + FAQs, so it drafts customer replies in your voice
Pro move: write instructions like a note to a new helper: “Keep answers under 150 words. Ask before assuming. Use a friendly tone.”
