Where do I start with Grok Bot?

How do I make my Grok Bot friendlier?

Put tone in its standing instructions: short sentences, warm but not fake, ask one clarifying question when something important is missing, and never invent prices or facts. Reuse the same voice note you’d put in ChatGPT Custom Instructions.

Can I run more than one Grok Bot?

Yes. Make a separate Bot for each job (email polish, shop FAQ, morning plan) in the same account. Per xAI’s docs, all your Bots share one cloud computer, including files and logins, so only connect accounts you’re comfortable every Bot using. Why is my Grok Bot using up my plan so fast?

Long, open-ended tasks and routines that run very often use the most. Give each job a clear finish line, set routines to the least frequent schedule that still helps (weekday mornings instead of every few minutes), and pause Bots you aren’t using. To see what you’ve used, open Settings → Usage & Billing in the Grok Bot app (it shows when your account has it).

I pay for X. Why don’t I have Grok Bot?

Grok Bot comes with the X Subscription’s Premium plan ($30/mo), Super and Ultra. It isn’t included on Plus ($8/mo) or Free, so check your plan first. If you have SuperGrok or X Premium+ on its own, link that Grok account from the Grok Bot plan screen. Stuck after combining accounts? Can I talk to my Grok Bot with my iPhone’s Action Button?

Yes, on iPhones that have an Action Button (iPhone 15 Pro or later). Grok Bot’s official X account announced it on Oct 19, 2026: update the Grok Bot app to version 1.16 or newer, then open your iPhone’s Settings → Action Button, swipe to Shortcut, and choose Grok Bot → Start Voice Chat. Press the button to talk to your Bot. Pick it under Grok Bot, not the regular Grok app, since they’re separate apps. No Action Button? Open your Bot’s chat, leave the message box empty, and tap Start voice chat.

Can my Grok Bot have its own email address?

Yes, but think before you pick the name. Your account gets one Grok Bot email address, and once you claim it you can’t change it or get a second one. Before you say yes, write down two or three names you’d be happy to keep for years, ask your Bot which ones are available, then claim only the one you choose.

Can ChatGPT help with Excel or Google Sheets formulas?

Yes. Describe your columns and the answer you want and ask for the exact formula, or use ChatGPT for Excel and Google Sheets, a sidebar inside your spreadsheet that OpenAI offers on Free, Go, Plus and Pro (Free and Go get limited usage). Can ChatGPT write my eBay or Vinted listings?

Yes. Upload photos of the item, its label and any flaws in the ChatGPT app and ask for a title and an honest description for your site. Measure the item yourself, confirm the brand and model from the label, and set your price from real sold listings, not from a guess. What is ChatGPT Work, and what happened to agent mode?

ChatGPT Work is ChatGPT's agent for longer, multi-step jobs that end in a finished file, like a spreadsheet, document or slide deck. Switch from Chat to Work, describe the outcome, and approve important actions along the way. OpenAI says ChatGPT agent is no longer available and points people to Work. Are Google Gemini Gems going away?

Yes, for personal Google accounts 18 and over. Google's Gemini help center says Gems become read-only on November 17, 2026 and are removed on December 17, 2026, and Google will automatically recreate them as skills (reusable instructions you call with / or @ in any chat). Audio, video, old .doc/.xls/.ppt and archive files won't transfer, so download them first. What is Gemini Notebook (NotebookLM), and is it free?

Gemini Notebook is Google's AI research and study helper; Google renamed it from NotebookLM on July 16, 2026, and old links redirect. You add sources such as PDFs, web links, public YouTube videos or Google Docs, and it answers only from them with clickable citations, and can make Audio Overviews (podcast-style summaries), flashcards and quizzes. It's free to start with a Google Account (100 notebooks, 50 sources each on the free level, per Google's plans page). Can ChatGPT help with holiday shopping?

Yes, as a planning and research helper. Ask it to turn your gift list into a budget table, ask ChatGPT to find and compare gift ideas for a hard-to-buy-for person, and run a quick checklist before you pay. OpenAI says ChatGPT can make mistakes picking products and the first price shown may not be the lowest, so confirm the final price, shipping and return policy on the store's own site. USPS recommends mailing by Dec 17 (Ground Advantage) or Dec 18 (Priority Mail) for Dec 25 in the lower 48. Grok Bot isn’t working. What should I try first?

Fully quit Grok Bot and reopen it (on a Mac, choose Quit from the menu bar); xAI’s docs say most problems clear with that. If you pay for the Grok app but see a paywall, remember Grok and Grok Bot are different apps: Grok Bot is included with Premium, Super and Ultra on The X Subscription, or you can link SuperGrok. Is ChatGPT Plus worth it, or is the free version enough?

For most beginners, the free version is enough to start: OpenAI says ChatGPT Free includes unlimited everyday text chats, with limits on uploads, images, voice and deep research. ChatGPT Go is a low-cost step up with more uploads, images and memory (it may show ads), Plus is $20 a month for advanced reasoning, expanded deep research and higher limits, and Pro is $100, $200 or $500 a month for heavy users. Can I use ChatGPT with Siri on my iPhone?

Yes, on iPhones with Apple Intelligence (Apple lists the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 16 or later for iOS 27). Go to Settings, Siri, ChatGPT, Set Up (on iOS 26: Settings, Apple Intelligence & Siri, ChatGPT). No ChatGPT account is needed. Then say: Hey Siri, ask ChatGPT... How do I set up parental controls on ChatGPT?

On the web, go to Settings > Parental controls > Add family member, choose Use phone or Use email, and send the invite to your teen. After they accept, select their name to set Quiet hours, Study hours and features like Voice Mode and image generation. OpenAI says parents can't read their teen's chats. How do I download the ChatGPT desktop app on Mac or Windows?

Go to chatgpt.com/download (OpenAI’s official page). Mac needs macOS 14; Windows help lists Windows 10 version 17763.0 or higher. My holiday package is delayed or missing. Can ChatGPT help?

Yes, as a helper. The FTC Mail Order Merchandise Rule says online/phone sellers must ship by the promised date or within 30 days if none was stated, and offer cancel + a prompt refund (often within 7 working days) if they can’t. My flight was canceled or delayed. Can ChatGPT help me get a refund?

Yes, as a helper. For flights to, from or within the U.S., DOT says a canceled or significantly changed flight (3+ hours domestic, 6+ international) means a refund if you don’t accept the alternative or a voucher, paid within 7 business days for credit cards. Can AI translate a menu or a conversation for me?

Yes. Point the Google Translate app’s camera at a menu or sign (download the language first to use it offline), paste text into chatgpt.com/translate, or open ChatGPT Voice and ask it to translate between two languages until you say stop. On newer iPhones, Live Translation also works in Messages, phone calls and FaceTime. Double-check anything about allergies, medicine or money.

What is Alexa+, and is it free?

Alexa+ is Amazon's new AI version of Alexa that you can talk to more naturally. In the U.S., Amazon offers a free, limited Alexa+ chat at Alexa.com and in the Alexa app; full Alexa+ on Echo devices is included with Prime or costs $19.99 a month on the Standard plan. What is a passkey, and should I use one?

A passkey lets you sign in without typing a password: your phone or computer confirms it's you with your face, fingerprint or PIN. Apple, Google and Microsoft say passkeys resist phishing because your device won't offer one to a lookalike site. Say yes on devices you own, not shared ones. When is Small Business Saturday 2026, and how can ChatGPT help my shop get ready?

Small Business Saturday 2026 is Saturday, November 28, the Saturday after Thanksgiving (SBA and American Express). Use ChatGPT to pick one simple offer, make a checklist and draft your posts, door sign and customer email in your own voice, using only your real dates, hours and prices. Can ChatGPT help me fill out the FAFSA?

Yes, as a plain-English explainer, not as the place you type your answers. The 2027-28 FAFSA form is open now on StudentAid.gov and it is free. Use ChatGPT to make your checklist, explain confusing questions and draft emails to the financial aid office, using general facts only. Never paste a Social Security number, StudentAid.gov password or tax numbers into a chatbot, and check state and school deadlines, which come well before the federal June 30, 2028 deadline. What is the Copilot key on my keyboard, and how do I use Microsoft Copilot?

It opens Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft's AI chat helper. Press the Copilot key or Windows key + C, sign in with your personal Microsoft account (or an Apple ID or Google account), type a question and press Enter. Microsoft says the Copilot app comes installed on new Windows 11 PCs; otherwise get it from the Microsoft Store, or use copilot.com or the phone app. Hey Copilot (hands-free voice) is off until you turn it on in Settings > General. Can ChatGPT help me write holiday cards and a Christmas letter?

Yes. Jot 3 to 5 real notes about each person (one memory, one thing you appreciate, one wish), ask ChatGPT for a few short versions, then change a line so it sounds like you and check every name. Tell it not to invent memories, and keep addresses and other people's private news out of the chat. USPS recommends mailing cards by First-Class Mail by Dec. 17, 2026 for expected delivery by Dec. 25 in the lower 48 states. Can ChatGPT tell me if a text or email is a scam?

It can give you a useful second opinion, not proof. Screenshot the message without tapping the link, cover your name and number, and ask ChatGPT to list the red flags (a rush, an odd web address, requests for codes or gift cards). Then check the real way by typing the company's website yourself. The FBI says real police and government officials never call or text to demand payment. Report scam texts by forwarding them to 7726. What is a ChatGPT Project and should I use one?

A Project is a folder in ChatGPT that keeps chats, files and instructions for one job together, so you never re-explain the background. It’s free on every plan (5 files per project on Free, 25 on Go and Plus). Use one for anything you keep coming back to: your business, a class, a client or a trip. Can I make money with ChatGPT?
